Getting the most from a property portfolio in volatile markets could mean culling under-performers and reinvesting in quality dwellings that provide income and prospects for capital growth. But it requires avoiding markets where there is little opportunity for returns – areas with poor infrastructure, a long way from central business districts and which are over-supplied with apartments.
